One Year of Payments & Innovation
In our first year, we didn’t just promise digital transformation — we delivered it. Here is everything NPICTT accomplished since launch.
From Launch to National Impact
NPICTT Launches
Established under the Ministry of Finance with a clear mandate: modernise all government payments and drive digital transformation across Trinidad & Tobago.
National Payments Platform Goes LIVE
Trinidad & Tobago’s first locally-owned, nationally governed payments platform enters production — processing real government transactions from day one.
TSTT — First Client Live
Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago becomes the first state entity processing payments on the NPICTT platform. Strategic partnership announced January 7, 2026.
NOBIS eKYC Deployed
Digital identity onboarding system goes live, adopted by TSTT through the Innovation Centre for seamless customer verification across the nation.
Carnival Centre Goes Cashless
POS terminals deployed for vendors at the Carnival Centre, powered by NPICTT + NCC + TSTT. Trinidad’s biggest cultural festival embraces fully digital payments.
Innovation Centre Established
A government-backed financing hub for local tech innovators launches under the Ministry of Finance — bridging the gap between ideas and live national infrastructure.
NPCI India UPI Partnership
NPICTT connects Trinidad & Tobago to India’s world-leading instant payments network (UPI), operationalised through the Innovation Centre.
Axionis Partnership
Strategic partnership with Caribbean AI company Axionis — building CitizenAI, Ciribra (Caribbean’s own LLM), WePayroll, and MyClaw for the region.
CitizenAI Launches
The Caribbean’s first government-backed AI assistant goes live — free on WhatsApp at citizentt.ai. Available 24/7, speaks Trini, helps every citizen navigate government services.
Payment Platform Expands
Seven payment services now live: GovPay, CourtPay, Uturn, Online Certified Copy, TSTT, PTSC, and SportTT. Every citizen, every community, every government transaction.
“This is a first of its kind with more public agencies to follow.”— Senator Kennedy Swaratsingh, Minister in the Ministry of Finance
The Future is Just Beginning
Year one was about building the foundation. Year two is about reaching every citizen.
